Review
Ladies and gentlemen, gather ’round and hear the tale of a frightful flick called “Evil Laugh.” This motion picture is not for the faint of heart; it’ll make your hair stand on end, your heart race, and your undergarments dampen. So, if you’re ready for a good scare, then pull up a chair and let me spin ye a yarn.
The story takes place in an old abandoned mansion nestled in the countryside. A group of young adults gather there to renovate the dilapidated estate into a hospice for children. However, unbeknownst to them, there’s a killer lurking among them.
The cast includes some unknown up-and-comers such as Ashlyn Gere as Sarah, Steven Baio as Rick and Tony Griffin as Chuck. However, there’s also some familiar faces like Jerold Pearson as Leszek who also directed the movie.
Now folks, let me tell ya something. The acting ain’t Shakespearean by any means. But that don’t matter because this film is all about the scares! And boy does it deliver them in spades!
The killer’s identity is kept hidden throughout most of the movie giving audiences an eerie sense of dread with every creaking floorboard and gust of wind. And when they do finally reveal who’s behind the mask? Whew! That reveal will give you nightmares until the cows come home.
Now, let’s talk about some behind-the-scenes tidbits shall we? “Evil Laugh” was made on an extremely low budget and filmed over just ten days in California. Despite this fact, they managed to create some truly frightening scenes.
One such scene involves one of our protagonists slowly walking down a hallway with only a flashlight to guide her way; meanwhile, ominous music swells in the background. Suddenly out pops our killer! Resulting in many moviegoers jumping out of their seats!
Additionally, the music score for “Evil Laugh” is top-notch. It’s eerie and atmospheric, setting the tone for the entire movie. Every note will have you on the edge of your seat.
Now, as with any highly regarded film, there are those who have their criticisms. One review stated that the dialogue was “wooden,” while another slammed the editing as being “sloppy.” But let me tell you something folks, those naysayers are just looking for something to pick apart because they can’t handle feeling scared!
In conclusion, “Evil Laugh” may not be a cinematic masterpiece, but it’ll sure give you a good scare. So if you’re in the mood to have your heart race and your hair stand on end, then this is the movie for you. Just don’t blame me when you’re too scared to go to bed at night! As Mark Twain once said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” So sit back and let Evil Laugh get your heart racing!
