The film adaptation of “Gone with the Wind” released in 1939 brought this story to life on screen. Directed by Victor Fleming starred Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara, along with Clark Gable as Rhett Butler, Leslie Howard as Ashley Wilkes and Olivia de Havilland as Melanie Hamilton. The film follows Scarlett’s journey from spoiled Southern belle to a hardened survivor amidst war and turmoil.

The movie opens against a stunning backdrop of the lush greenery of Tara Plantation, where Scarlett lives with her family.
