It was a cloudy day in the small town of Palm Springs when I stumbled upon the movie Senior Moment. It was a film that grabbed my attention from start to finish with its hilarious plot and timeless dialogue. This movie explores the life of a retired air force pilot named Victor Martin, played by the legendary William Shatner.
The storyline spins around Victor’s daily routine where he spends his days speeding around on his vintage convertible with his good friend Sal (played by Christopher Lloyd). The two are inseparable and have been friends for years. They even share an apartment together! However, their life changes when Victor is caught speeding and gets his license revoked.
As Senior Moment progresses, we see Victor struggle with old age and the limitations it brings along. He falls for a young woman named Caroline (played by Jean Smart), who seems to be interested in him too. As they start dating, Victor realizes that he needs to adjust his lifestyle to be able to keep up with her.
This movie is full of funny scenes and witty one-liners that can bring down any mood in a snap. Some examples include “I’m gonna evolve beyond carbon!” or “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take… unless you sleep with someone in admissions!” These lines work because Shatner delivers them perfectly, showcasing his comedic talent.

Christopher Lloyd who most people might know from Back to The Future Trilogy also adds depth to this film playing off William Shatner’s character incredibly well.
Furthermore, Senior Moment has a score that perfectly complements each scene without being overpowering. Additionally, the cinematography captures Palm Spring’s beauty from different angles adding an extra layer of visual appeal to the film.
However, not everyone has been a fan of Senior Moment; some people have criticized it for being predictable and lacking in pace. But I felt that the movie was enjoyable despite its predictability and slow pace. It still managed to entertain me, delivering a fun, light-hearted experience suitable for all ages.
In conclusion, Senior Moment is a funny and engaging movie that provides an insightful glimpse into the life of a senior citizen. William Shatner delivers a captivating performance as Victor Martin, showcasing his comedic side and acting skills.
