“Walking on Sunshine” is a romantic comedy set in Italy. It follows the story of two sisters who fall in love with the same man. The plot is predictable but the scenery and music are eye-catching, just like a postcard from Italy. The movie is a feel-good, cheesy delight that will leave you humming tunes all day long. Think a sweet gelato on a hot summer day: cheesy, sugary, but oh so satisfying.

Review
Oh, fair readers! Come hither and lend me thy ears, for I have a tale to tell of a most joyous film that doth warm the heart and quicken the pulse. ‘Tis called “Walking on Sunshine,” and it doth transport thy soul to the sun-kissed shores of Italy, where love, music, and dance doth reign supreme.
In this merry tale, we follow the comely lass Taylor as she doth journey to Italy with her sister Maddie for a summer holiday. Taylor is in search of true love, and it doth seem that she hath found it in the form of handsome Italian hunk Raf. But alas! Their romance is short-lived, for Taylor discovers that Raf is none other than her sister’s ex-boyfriend! Woe betide our fair damsel-in-distress!
But fear not, gentle readers, for there is much merriment to be had in this film. The plot soars forth with all the energy of a Shakespearean play, with twists and turns aplenty. The rivalry between sisters Taylor and Maddie adds a touch of drama to the proceedings, as does the presence of Raf’s haughty ex-girlfriend who doth try to win him back.
The cast soars like eagles on high as they bring these characters to life before our very eyes. Annabel Scholey shines as Taylor, capturing both her vulnerability and her fiery spirit with equal aplomb. Her chemistry with Giulio Berruti’s Raf is palpable – thou canst feel their connection in every lingering gaze and playful dance step.
As for Maddie – played by Hannah Arterton – she is a force to be reckoned with. Her voice soars like an angel’s as she belts out such classic tunes as “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” and “Eternal Flame.” And let us not forget Greg Wise as Doug, the girls’ father who doth bring a nice touch of levity to the film with his befuddled antics.
Ah, but what of the music, thou mayest ask? Fear not, for it is glorious. From the opening strains of “Walking on Sunshine” to the rousing finale of “The Power of Love,” the soundtrack is sure to lift thine spirits and get thee tapping thy toes. It is a veritable feast for the ears.
But lest thou think this film is all sunshine and lollipops, let me assure thee that there are darker moments as well. The scenes between Taylor and her estranged mother are poignant and heartfelt, and add a layer of emotional depth to the story.
The cinematography is stunning – we are treated to sweeping shots of Italy’s picturesque coastline that will make thee yearn to book a ticket to Napoli posthaste. And let us not forget the costumes – oh, how they doth shimmer and sparkle in the Italian sun!
Now, fair readers, I shall speak plainly from mine own heart: “Walking on Sunshine” is not without its flaws. Some may find it too predictable or cheesy for their tastes. But I say unto thee – let thy guard down! Embrace this film with all thy heart and soul, and thou shalt be rewarded with laughter, tears, and plenty of sunshine.
In conclusion, dear readers, I doth implore thee – go forth and see this film! Let its infectious energy wash over thee like a wave upon the shore. Thou shalt leave the theater with a smile upon thy face and warmth in thy heart. And perhaps thou shalt even find thyself walking on sunshine.
